CONTRACT AZURE MIGRATION ENGINEER

Job Title: Azure Migration Engineer
Location: Oxfordshire / Hybrid Working Pattern
Duration: Initially 3 Months
Rate: Competitive Daily Rate

We are looking for an experienced Azure Cloud Deployment Engineer to lead the implementation of a new Microsoft Azure environment.

This is a hands-on deployment role focused on building a secure, well-structured Azure environment in line with agreed architecture, security and governance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deploy the Microsoft Azure environment from the ground up.
• Configure Azure subscriptions, resource groups, networking and core services.
• Implement Azure identity, RBAC, PIM and appropriate security controls.
• Apply Azure policies and Microsoft best-practice standards.
• Ensure resources are deployed securely and consistently.
• Work with relevant security stakeholders to ensure the environment meets required security and compliance standards.
• Troubleshoot deployment and configuration issues.
• Use PowerShell, Azure CLI and/or Infrastructure as Code where appropriate.
• Produce clear technical documentation covering the Azure architecture, configuration, security and operational setup.
• Provide knowledge transfer and handover to the internal IT team.

About You

• Strong experience in IT/cloud infrastructure.
• Strong, demonstrable hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Proven experience deploying Azure environments from the ground up.
• Strong knowledge of Azure security, Entra ID, RBAC and PIM.
• Good understanding of Azure networking, governance and resource management.
• Experience with Azure Policy and security best practices.
• Strong scripting/automation skills using PowerShell and/or Azure CLI.
• Experience with Terraform, Bicep or ARM templates would be advantageous.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Able to work independently, take ownership and deliver to deadlines.
• Security-conscious and comfortable working within formal governance requirements.
