Robert Half Technology are assisting a market leading financial services organisation to recruit an Interim CTO on a 6-12 month contract basis.
Role
Technology, Data & IT Operations
- The Interim CTO will be accountable for the performance, security and reliability of all technology, data and IT services.
- Owns operational risk, resilience, incident management and disaster recovery, ensuring robust and continuously improving controls.
- Oversees infrastructure, cloud and third-party services to ensure resilience, recoverability and cost efficiency.
- Acts as senior lead during major technology incidents.
Technology Strategy & Architecture
- Translates business strategy into a clear, prioritised technology roadmap with senior stakeholders.
- Owns execution of technology change, ensuring delivery is controlled and aligned to capacity and risk.
- Guides architecture and platform decisions, balancing innovation with operational stability.
Leadership
- The Interim CTO leads Development, Data and IT Operations as a single, aligned function.
- Builds capability, sets clear accountability and develops future leaders.
- Ensures strong collaboration across key business areas.
Delivery & Prioritisation
- Partners with senior leadership to balance resilience, capacity and strategic delivery.
- Supports clear prioritisation, trade-offs and transparent reporting of progress and risks.
Operational Resilience (BAU)
- Ensures stable, reliable "business-as-usual" services with strong governance and monitoring.
- Balances change and operational demand while reducing technical debt and improving standards.
Profile
- The Interim CTO will have technical Mastery - sufficient knowledge and experience in the key areas of technology, data and IT operations to credibly lead the team and the firm forward.
- Leadership & Collaboration - leads through influence, clarity and trust; works effectively across senior peers.
