Data Engineer

Robert Half are working with a leading fraud-prevention organisation to recruit a Mid-Level Data Engineer on an initial 12-month Fixed-Term Contract.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing Product Innovation team focused on building scalable data solutions using modern cloud technologies.Role:

• Design and build robust, scalable data pipelines and data architectures.
• Work extensively with Microsoft Fabric, including Data Factory, Lakehouse and Data Warehouse components.
• Develop and optimise ETL processes across cloud-based and modern data ecosystems.
• Ensure strong data quality, reliability and system performance through testing, validation and optimisation.
• Support data science and AI initiatives by ensuring pipelines and datasets are structured for advanced analytics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across technology, product, and operational functions to deliver high-quality data solutions.

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer within a cloud-based environment.
• Strong technical capability in SQL, Python or Scala.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric or other major cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP).
• Strong understanding of data modelling, pipeline design and best-practice engineering principles.
• Experience using data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and optimise data systems and workflows.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
