Deployment Engineer

Robert Half are working with a leading financial services organisation that is looking for an experienced Deployment Engineer to join their technology team on an initial 3-month contract.

This is a highly hands-on role, requiring someone comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and engaging directly with end users and internal IT teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploy and configure desktops, laptops and other IT hardware across the organisation.
  • Support the rollout and upgrade of end-user devices, including hardware refresh programmes.
  • Build, configure and deploy devices using Microsoft Intune, Autopilot and SCCM/MECM.
  • Install and configure software applications and ensure devices meet required security and configuration standards.
  • Manage device preparation, imaging, asset tagging and deployment documentation.
  • Provide hands-on technical support during deployment activities and troubleshoot hardware/software issues.
  • Work closely with Service Desk, Infrastructure and wider IT teams to coordinate deployments.
  • Maintain accurate asset and deployment records.
  • Support user migrations, device replacements and technology upgrades.
  • Follow established IT security, change management and deployment procedures.
  • Ensure deployments are completed within agreed timescales and with minimal disruption to users.
  • Provide clear communication to users and stakeholders throughout deployment activities.

Experience Required:

  • Previous experience working as a Deployment Engineer, EUC Engineer, Desktop Engineer or IT Support Engineer.
  • Strong hands-on experience deploying and configuring Windows 10/11 devices.
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune and Autopilot.
  • Experience with SCCM/MECM and software deployment.
  • Strong understanding of desktop hardware, peripherals and troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting large-scale device refreshes or technology deployment projects.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, Microsoft 365 and Azure AD/Entra ID.
  • Good understanding of IT asset management and deployment processes.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Comfortable working 5 days per week on-site in London.
  • Previous experience within financial services or another highly regulated environment would be advantageous.

Contract:

  • Initial 3-month contract, with potential for extension.
  • London-based.
  • 5 days per week on-site.
  • Immediate / ASAP start preferred.
  • Financial services environment.
