Or client, based in London, is seeking a strategic and data-driven SEO Director to lead and scale their organic growth function. This is a key leadership position, responsible for shaping and executing a comprehensive SEO strategy to enhance visibility, drive high-quality traffic, and increase conversions across digital channels.

The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, manage an SEO specialist, and ensure best practices are embedded across all aspects of website and content development.

This is a full-time, permanent hybrid role based in London that is ideally looking for an SEO Director that has both agency and in-house background.

SEO Director Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a long-term SEO strategy aligned with wider business objectives
  • Drive organic growth through both technical optimisation and content strategy
  • Manage and mentor an SEO Specialist
  • Collaborate with content, design, development, and marketing teams
  • Present performance insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership
  • Leverage technology and AI tools to improve efficiency and outcomes
  • Stay up to date with SEO trends, algorithm changes, and evolving digital best practices
  • Oversee keyword research, competitor analysis, and SEO audits
  • Manage SEO budgets and ensure effective resource allocation
  • Lead initiatives such as link-building, site migrations, and landing page optimisation

Ideal SEO Director Profile:

  • A senior SEO leader with a proven track record of delivering measurable growth in competitive environments
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on, data-led approach
  • In-depth knowledge of technical, on-page, and off-page SEO
  • Experience using industry tools such as SEMrush (or similar)
  • Familiarity with HTML/CSS and CMS platforms
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • A degree in marketing or a related field is advantageous
