Head of Data

The Company

My client is a private equity owned legal firm who are growing exponentially. Due to this, they are expanding their tech function and are recruiting for a Head of Data to join their team.

The Role

• Define and execute the overall data strategy, ensuring it aligns with business objectives and drives value.
• Oversee the data team, including data scientists, data engineers, and data analysts, providing leadership, mentorship, and resource allocation.
• Establish and enforce data governance policies for data quality, privacy, security (e.g., GDPR, CCPA compliance), and ethical use.
• Manage the entire data lifecycle, from data acquisition and storage (e.g., data warehousing, data lakes) to processing and utilisation.
• Drive the development and deployment of advanced analytics, machine learning models, and business intelligence (BI) solutions to generate actionable insights.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with executive leadership and departments (e.g., Marketing, Product, Finance) to integrate data-driven decision-making.
• Manage the data technology stack and infrastructure, evaluating and implementing new tools and technologies to improve efficiency and capability.
• Champion data literacy and a data-driven culture across the organisation.
• Manage the data budget and vendor relationships.

Your Profile

The ideal candidate will have worked in a similar role and managed a team of approximately 5. You will be happy to be hands on where we required and have extensive experience setting up processes and procedures from scratch.

Salary & Benefits

The role is a permanent position with a salary of up to £120,000 per annum, depending on experience. This is in addition to a bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
