Infrastructure Engineer
Robert Half have partnered with a growing digital/e-commerce organisation to recruit an Infrastructure Engineer on a permanent basis as part of their continued growth plans.About the Role My client is seeking a professional, enthusiastic, and flexible IT Infrastructure Engineer to support and maintain a complex, multi-site IT environment. This role involves managing virtual platforms, maintaining server and network infrastructure, delivering 3rd line support, and contributing to IT projects across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure the smooth and efficient running of IT infrastructure
Monitor and maintain server performance, security, backups, and disaster recovery processes
Manage virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V, Azure)
Maintain and support Windows Server, Active Directory (Azure Hybrid), Group Policy, DNS, DHCP
Support Microsoft 365 services (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Defender, Intune)
Maintain SQL Server, IIS, SAN technologies, and backup systems
Implement infrastructure changes and security best practices
Provide 3rd line technical support across global sites
Assist with IT projects as required
Required Skills & Experience
Windows Server 2016+
Virtualisation (VMware, Hyper-V, Azure)
Networking & security (TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls, switches, APs)
Microsoft 365 administration
Backup technologies & disaster recovery
PowerShell scripting
SQL Server installation & maintenance
Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
Desirable
Cisco, WatchGuard, FortiGate technologies
Veeam Backup & Replication
Server/network hardening
XDR solutions & monitoring tools
ISO27001 environment experience
Salary/logistics:
- £55,000-£65,000
- Hybrid working - 3 days in office, 2 days WFH
