JSM Architect (SC Cleared)

Robert Half Technology are assisting a market leading defence sector organisation to recruit a JSM Architect on an ongoing contract basis, 6 months minimum. Remote working - UK based. ASAP start. SC clearance required.

Role

• The JSM Architect (SC Cleared) will take technical ownership of the Jira Service Management platform, defining its overall architecture, structure, and long-term scalability.
• Lead the design and management of workflows across JSM, ensuring they are efficient, scalable, and aligned with enterprise service management standards.
• Own configuration management within JSM, establishing governance, structure, and consistency across projects and instances.
• Define and maintain the platform's data model and schema design, including request types, asset/configuration management, and SLA structures.
• Design and oversee integrations between JSM and wider toolchains (e.g. CMDB, Jira Software, Confluence, monitoring and ITSM tools).
• Act as technical authority on JSM best practice, advising stakeholders on platform strategy, roadmap, and future capability.
• Collaborate with service management, IT operations, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable, well-architected JSM solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex configuration, workflow, and integration issues, providing expert-level resolution.
• Keep up to date with JSM and ITSM developments, driving continuous improvement of the platform architecture.

Profile

• The JSM Architect (SC Cleared) will have significant experience architecting and administering Jira Service Management at scale, with strong expertise in workflow design and management.
• Proven experience owning configuration management and governance within complex JSM environments.
• Experience designing JSM data models, schemas, and integrations with wider toolchains.
• Strong understanding of ITSM principles and how they translate into platform architecture and design decisions.
• Active SC clearance is required for this role.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to operate at both strategic and hands-on technical level.
• The JSM Architect (SC Cleared) will have strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence technical direction across teams.
