Technical / Solutions Architect
Robert Half are recruiting for an experienced Technical Architect to support a high-profile technical carve-out for a private-equity-backed client on an inital 4 month contract.
Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of the technical architecture workstream within a complex business carve-out.
- Conduct a full review of the existing landscape including integrations, environments, data flows and system dependencies.
- Assess current progress, architectural documentation, technical risks, and critical gaps.
- Re-establish architectural governance, technical design authority, and solution assurance processes.
- Define and document the target-state architecture for the standalone business, covering applications, data, integrations and infrastructure.
- Work closely with SAP SMEs, business leads, and third-party delivery partners to validate design decisions.
- Oversee and guide key platforms within scope, including:
- SAP (core ERP) - essential
- COM / Order Management systems
- Data Warehouse / Vision BI
- OpenText (Malam)
- Warehouse mobility / handheld solutions (Zetes or similar)
- Support environment separation, data migration planning, cutover readiness and testing strategies.
- Identify architecture risks and develop mitigation strategies to maintain programme timelines.
- Ensure strong communication across business, IT, and consultancy teams.
- Provide clear architectural recommendations and regular updates to senior stakeholders.
- Proven experience as a Technical Architect on large-scale ERP, integration, or enterprise platform programmes.
- Strong SAP architectural background, including integrations, data flows, and cross-module dependencies.
- Experience working on carve-outs, divestitures, M&A separations, or accelerated PE-backed programmes.
- Understanding of COM / Order Management processes and system integration points.
- Experience of Data Warehouse environments, ideally including Vision BI.
- Familiarity with OpenText (preferably Malam-delivered solutions).
- Exposure to warehouse mobility or handheld scanning solutions such as Zetes.
- Strong integration knowledge (IDocs, APIs, middleware, interface design).
- Ability to assess in-flight projects, stabilise delivery, and introduce governance.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and third-party partners.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-visibility environments with demanding timelines.
- Initial 4-month contract (with potential extension)
- Inside IR35 via Umbrella
- UK Remote with occasional travel to london
