Contract IT Support Engineer (2nd Line) - Education Sector

Location: Coventry (Onsite, Full-Time)
Rate: £200-£230 per day (Umbrella)
Contract: Immediate Start Available

We are currently seeking an experienced contract 2nd Line IT Support Engineer to join a busy and dynamic educational environment in Coventry. This is a full-time onsite role requiring a proactive individual who can provide high-quality technical support across a range of infrastructure, network, and end-user technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 2nd line technical support to staff and users.
• Support and administer Microsoft Active Directory environments.
• Manage and troubleshoot Microsoft 365/Office 365 services.
• Support Google Workspace applications and administration.
• Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot network infrastructure and connectivity issues.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and security groups.
• Support hardware, software, printers, devices, and classroom technology.
• Escalate complex incidents where required and work collaboratively with wider IT teams.
• Ensure excellent customer service and timely resolution of support tickets.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in a 2nd Line IT Support role.
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory administration.
• Experience supporting Microsoft 365 / Office 365.
• Network support and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience supporting Google Workspace environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Desirable

• Previous experience working within a school, college, university, or education environment.
• Experience supporting Windows desktop and server environments.
• Knowledge of safeguarding requirements within educational settings.

Compliance Requirements

• Must hold a valid Enhanced DBS or be eligible and willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
• Available to start ASAP
