Accounts Payable Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Payable Manager to join a respected and growing organisation in the technology industry. This role offers you the chance to take full ownership of the accounts payable function across a network of European entities. You will play a pivotal part in ensuring the smooth running of payables, working closely with internal teams and external suppliers to maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency.

What you'll do:

As an Accounts Payable Manager, you will be entrusted with overseeing the entire accounts payable lifecycle for a diverse group of European entities. Your day-to-day activities will involve supervising team members, managing communications with suppliers, processing invoices for both COGS and OPEX categories, and handling complex reconciliations at period end. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all payments are authorised promptly, preparing regular payment runs, and administering credit card receipts as well as employee expense claims.

  • Supervise the Accounts Payable function, including direct oversight of an AP Clerk, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and on time.
  • Review Accounts Payable mailboxes daily, responding promptly to queries from suppliers and internal stakeholders to maintain excellent relationships.
  • Process all cost of goods sold (COGS) and operating expenses (OPEX) invoices with precision, ensuring timely entry into the system.
  • Handle supplier queries with care and professionalism, nurturing positive connections with vendors and colleagues throughout the business.
  • Manage period end accounting duties such as closing the purchase ledger and preparing detailed reconciliations to the general ledger.
  • Reconcile facilities-related costs by verifying property rental invoices are processed correctly according to company policy.
  • Ensure all invoices are authorised for payment without delay, proactively following up with budget holders when necessary.
  • Prepare weekly payment runs, guaranteeing that payments are made efficiently and in accordance with agreed schedules.
  • Process credit card receipts each month, performing thorough reconciliations to ensure accuracy in reporting.
  • Administer employee expense claims with diligence, supporting staff across departments while maintaining compliance with company guidelines.
