Azure Cloud Security Architect (6-months contract)
We are seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Security Architect to lead the design, implementation, and governance of security controls across our Azure cloud platform. This role requires a hands-on technical expert with deep experience in Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure-native security services, and enterprise platform security architecture.
What you'll bring:
- Design and implement secure Azure cloud architectures aligned with security best practices and compliance requirements
- Lead implementation, configuration and optimisation of Microsoft Defender for Cloud
- Develop and enforce Azure security policies, standards, and guardrails
- Implement Zero Trust principles across Azure workloads
- Conduct threat modelling and architecture risk assessments
- Review and remediate security findings from Defender, vulnerability tools, and audits
- Collaborate with Operations teams to drive timely remediation of vulnerabilities
- Implement monitoring, logging, and incident response capabilities across Azure environments
- Support regulatory and compliance initiatives (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, CIS benchmarks)
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience as a Cloud Security Architect within Microsoft Azure environments
- Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Defender for Cloud
- Deep understanding of Azure security services including:
- Azure AD / Entra ID
- Azure Policy
- Key Vault
- NSGs / Firewalls
- Sentinel
- RBAC and Privileged Identity Management
- Experience designing and implementing platform security architecture
- Strong knowledge of cloud security frameworks and best practices
- Experience working closely with Operations teams on remediation activities
- Solid understanding of DevSecOps principles
- Ability to translate security requirements into technical designs
