Information & Operational Risk Officer - European Clearing Bank (VP Level)

A leading pan-European clearing bank has partnered exclusively with us to appoint an Information & Operational Risk Officer. The position sits in the 2nd Line (VP level) within an established non-financial risk management team, focusing on both the UK and wider European business.
Key Responsibilities

Providing independent oversight and assurance on information security, cyber, data management, operational risk, fraud, and business continuity

Reviewing and challenging 1st Line risk assessments, incident management, and the implementation of control frameworks in line with internal and regulatory requirements (e.g. DORA, EMIR, MiFID II)

Leading risk self-assessments, deep dives, and independent reviews on major change, technology initiatives, and new products

Collaborating with senior stakeholders across IT, Compliance, Operations and business management, including regular reporting to management committees and engagement with regional regulators (FCA, ECB, Dutch central bank)

Helping to shape risk appetite and resilience metrics across UK and continental European activities, and delivering material for both local and group-level governance
Requirements

Experience (typically 5-10 years) in operational risk, information or IT risk, or non-financial risk management within wholesale/clearing, investment banking, or market infrastructure

Demonstrable expertise in frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, DORA and strong awareness of evolving UK/EU regulatory expectations

Ability to deliver independent risk opinions, challenge constructively, and produce clear, insightful risk reporting for senior audiences

Strong stakeholder management skills with proven track record influencing across varied functions and geographies

Relevant qualifications (e.g. CISA, CISSP, CRISC, or similar) are highly regarded
