North West (UK)

I am partnering exclusively with a highly sophisticated, globally active investment organisation to appoint a Data Architect into a newly created data function. This is a rare opportunity to shape the foundation of a strategic, business-critical data capability within a complex, fast-moving environment.

As the Data Architect, you will play a pivotal role in defining, designing, and overseeing the delivery of modern, cloud-native data architecture across the organisation. The role demands both strategic vision and hands-on technical depth, particularly within Azure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable, cloud-native data architectures on Microsoft Azure
  • Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models
  • Ensure consistent representation of borrowers, counterparties, exposures, and asset-level data
  • Collaborate closely with Data Engineering teams to optimise pipelines, storage patterns, and performance
  • Provide long-term strategic guidance on data governance, modelling, and architecture maturity
  • Support the build-out of a new enterprise-wide data capability with global impact

Required Experience

  • 7+ years working with complex data models and unifying disparate datasets
  • Strong background across financial data domains (e.g., transactions, market data, loan lifecycle, reference data)
  • Demonstrable expertise designing and delivering enterprise-grade data platforms in Azure
  • Hands-on experience with modern data modelling, data warehousing, and cloud architecture patterns
  • Exposure to real estate, loan servicing or financial operating platforms is advantageous
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field
