Role Title: Data Enablement & Literacy Specialist
Contract Length: 6 months
Day Rate: £400 - £450 per day
IR35 Status: Inside IR35

We are seeking an experienced Data Enablement & Literacy Specialist for a 6-month contract to drive data culture and elevate data skills across our organisation.

Your primary focus is building a structured training Pathway to uplift data literacy. While data governance knowledge is required, your proven track record in instructional design, product adoption, and corporate training execution is what matters most. You will actively bridge the gap between technical data engineering and business value.

Key Contractor Deliverables (6-Month Scope)

  • Training Pathways: Define and document persona-based training journeys for Data Users, Governance roles, and AI roles.
  • Curriculum Development: Build a repository of educational content, including interactive modules, face-to-face workshops, and video tutorials.
  • Data Portal Strategy: Partner with Product teams to build a Proof of Concept (PoC) for onboarding new business functions to our central data portal.
  • Community Scaling: Launch a "Data Champions" framework to organically drive peer-to-peer data literacy across departments.
  • Success Analytics: Design a KPI dashboard and feedback loop to measure training effectiveness and baseline skill shifts.

Requirements

Essential Experience

  • Data Literacy & Culture: Proven experience embedding data literacy and structured learning paths into a complex organisation.
  • Data Catalogue Tools: Hands-on experience customising and driving adoption of Alation (or similar tools like Collibra or OvalEdge).
  • Core Background: 3+ years of experience in data analytics, instructional design, corporate training, or data enablement.
  • Dual Communication Style: Ability to speak "technical data language" with engineers and "business value language" with commercial stakeholders.
  • Data Compliance: Robust operational knowledge of GDPR and its implications on global data management.

Desirable Experience

  • Change Management: Proficiency in frameworks like Prosci or ADKAR to manage organisational adoption.
  • LMS Systems: Experience hosting and tracking training content via Learning Management Systems.
