This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation as an End User Computing Engineer, with a strong focus on Exchange administration and Microsoft Intune-driven device management.
You'll play a key role in delivering a secure, stable and well-managed digital workplace for hundreds of users. Working within a progressive Digital, Data and Technology directorate, you'll take ownership of Exchange Online administration and centralised endpoint management using Intune - including application packaging, Windows updates and Office 365 update management.
This role would suit someone with a few years of hands-on experience in Exchange and Intune, particularly within structured, centrally managed environments.
What You'll DoYou'll ensure colleagues benefit from a secure, reliable and consistently managed digital experience. A significant part of the role centres on Exchange Online administration and centralised device management through Intune.
Your responsibilities will include:
-
Provide advanced second-line support across Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365 and enterprise applications.
-
Administer and support Exchange Online including mailbox management, permissions, shared mailboxes, distribution groups, mail flow rules, retention policies and troubleshooting mail-related issues.
-
Manage and maintain Microsoft Intune for centralised endpoint management.
-
Package, deploy and manage applications via Intune (app deployment, configuration profiles and policy management).
-
Oversee Windows Update for Business policies and manage Windows patching across the estate.
-
Manage Microsoft 365 Apps (Office) deployment and update channels through Intune.
-
Maintain device compliance, conditional access integration and security baselines.
-
Support device provisioning and configuration via Autopilot.
-
Troubleshoot complex endpoint and M365 issues, escalating where appropriate.
-
Contribute to ongoing improvements in endpoint security, automation and service reliability.
You'll have solid hands-on experience in a 2nd Line or End User Computing role, with particular strength in Exchange administration and Intune-driven endpoint management.
We're looking for practical experience rather than high-end architecture skills - someone comfortable managing and improving an existing Microsoft 365 and Intune environment.
You will demonstrate:
-
Proven experience administering Exchange Online in a live production environment.
-
A few years' hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune for application deployment, device configuration and update management.
-
Experience packaging and deploying applications via Intune.
-
Knowledge of Windows Update for Business and managing Windows patching policies.
-
Experience managing Microsoft 365 Apps (Office) deployments and update channels.
-
Strong Windows 10/11 support skills in centrally managed environments.
-
Understanding of Entra ID, Active Directory, GPOs and conditional access.
-
Experience troubleshooting mail flow, mailbox access and client-side Outlook issues.
-
Basic PowerShell skills for administration and reporting.
-
Strong communication skills and the ability to support users in a structured public sector environment.
