A leading enterprise organisation is undergoing major technology transformation, investing heavily in modernising its application landscape and product-led operating model. This is a high-impact leadership role with real influence across the business.

You'll lead the strategy and governance for application architecture and engineering across a complex estate-defining standards, patterns, and best practices to enable scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.

Managing over 100 people under the guild, you'll need to be technically credible while also able to lead teams and support senior stakeholders effectively.

• Define application architecture standards and engineering practices

• Guide solution design across programmes and product teams

• Own the modernisation roadmap (re-platforming, integration, retirement)

• Ensure scalability, security, and interoperability across applications

• Align with product, engineering, and enterprise architecture

• Drive lifecycle management, technical debt reduction, and delivery quality

• Lead and develop a broad, cross-functional guild

• Senior leadership experience in application engineering / architecture

• Proven track record managing large, mixed teams in complex environments

• Strong expertise in modern architectures (APIs, microservices, cloud)

• Experience across enterprise platforms and custom builds

• Essential: Guidewire, Salesforce, or both

• Desirable: UIPath, ServiceNow

• Strong stakeholder management and business alignment skills
