IT Category Manager
IT Category Manager (Contract) - London | £550-£650/day | ASAP Start
We're working with a leading global insurance organisation to hire an IT Category Manager on an initial 6-month contract.
This is a high-impact role sitting within a central procurement function, owning £50m+ IT spend and driving strategic sourcing across applications, infrastructure, and services.
What you'll be doing:
- Leading end-to-end IT procurement & sourcing activity (applications focus, wider IT exposure)
- Managing large-scale supplier negotiations with tier 1 vendors
- Driving cost optimisation, supplier rationalisation, and commercial frameworks
- Acting as a key commercial partner to senior IT stakeholders across the business
- Supporting major transformation programmes (migrations, service transitions, cost takeout)
- Building and executing long-term category strategies with clear commercial outcomes
What we're looking for:
- Proven IT Category / Procurement experience (end-to-end ownership)
- Strong exposure to application development / IT services spend
- Experience operating in financial services or complex regulated environments
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead high-value negotiations
- Strong commercial mindset with a track record of delivering cost savings + value
The role:
- London (hybrid - 2-3 days in office)
- ASAP start
- 6-month initial contract
