IT Technical Product Manager - Planview

A global insurance broking and risk advisory group, listed on the NYSE and one of the largest professional services groups in its sector worldwide. Operations span more than 130 countries, with a significant UK and Ireland footprint and a global IT function headquartered in New York. Planview is one of the firm's strategic enterprise platforms, used across the group for five-plus years to manage portfolio financials, project status, capacity, and a wide range of programme data.

This is a hands-on Technical Product Manager role owning the Planview platform across the UK and Ireland stakeholder group, sitting in IT and working in close partnership with a senior peer Technical Product Manager based in New York. You will own platform configuration, the development backlog, integrations, and the relationship with a global user base. You will not own the long-term strategic roadmap in isolation, the New York peer carries that, but you will own the operational and tactical side: weekly development item reviews, configuration changes, stakeholder communication, and translating user requests into prioritised work.

This is explicitly not a support role. Future vision and roadmap thinking are part of the brief, with scope to grow into the strategic side over time.

Key responsibilities
  • Own day-to-day configuration and administration of Planview Enterprise One / PPM across the UK and Ireland user base
  • Run weekly development item reviews with stakeholders and the wider team, prioritise the backlog and shape what gets built
  • Translate stakeholder requests and pain points into clear, prioritised platform changes
  • Work in close partnership with the senior Technical Product Manager in New York on roadmap, peer review and major changes
  • Manage integrations and data flows between Planview and finance, HR, BI and downstream systems
  • Communicate clearly to a global user base, with most active stakeholders in the UK and Ireland
  • Support adoption, training, release communications and continuous improvement of the platform
Essential experience
  • 3 to 8 years hands-on with an enterprise PPM platform: Planview Enterprise One / PPM strongly preferred, Clarity PPM, Planisware, or ServiceNow SPM also welcome
  • Hands-on platform configuration: workflows, custom fields, security, templates and lifecycle rules
  • Strong communicator, able to translate technical details to business audiences and the reverse
  • Experience running stakeholder-facing meetings (backlog grooming, prioritisation, change forums)
  • Comfortable working with integrations, APIs and downstream BI or finance systems
  • Self-directed and confident managing a globally distributed user base
Nice to have
  • Financial services, insurance or professional services background
  • Planview Administrator or Implementer certification
  • SAFe, PMP, or Agile/Scrum certifications
  • SQL or Python for data validation and reporting
Behaviours and mindsets
  • Excellent communicator, the most important quality for this hire
  • Pragmatic and structured problem solver
  • Comfortable being put in front of senior stakeholders to make the case for the platform
  • Curious about the product and motivated to build deep platform expertise
  • Collaborative, particularly across time zones with the New York peer
