Contract: 12 months
Work Setup: Hybrid - 3 days in the office

Who You Will Work With
Our client is a global financial services firm that manages wealth, navigates complex markets, and design strategic financial objectives. The firm provides risk management solutions across a variety of sectors, emphasizing long-term relationships, and innovative approaches to financial challenges.

What You'll Do

• Define and publish technical standards, reference architectures and best practices for Java-based distributed systems and service-to-service communication.
• Design, build and maintain reusable platform libraries, frameworks and services that accelerate application development.
• Evaluate, prototype and onboard new technologies and open-source components to modernise the Java platform.
• Collaborate with networking, infrastructure and security teams to improve platform resilience, performance and security.
• Provide deep technical leadership for complex platform, networking and performance challenges, including investigations and proof-of-concepts.
• Work directly with application teams to validate guidance, resolve integration issues and promote adoption of platform patterns.
• Drive and co-ordinate platform modernisation initiatives and developer standards across the engineering organisation.

What You Bring

• Expert in Java and JVM internals, with strong experience in Spring and Spring Boot
• Deep knowledge of concurrent and multithreaded programming and related debugging/troubleshooting techniques
• Proven expertise in distributed systems design
• Solid networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, TLS/mTLS, HTTP/HTTPS, load balancing, service discovery
• Strong Linux systems skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
