The Role
Our client is seeking a Junior Java Developer. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a global team, providing top-tier service to existing and prospective clients while expanding the business on a product and global level.
The successful candidate will be responsible for acquiring new clients, managing existing relationships, and contributing to the company's mission of becoming a Top Clearer worldwide in commodity markets.
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain Spring Web and Spring Batch applications as part of an established engineering team
- Support integration work with Kafka and other messaging systems under guidance from senior developers
- Contribute to the design and development of microservices within a distributed systems environment
- Deliver assigned development tasks within agreed timelines, taking ownership of features from build to completion
- Participate in code reviews, apply feedback, and assist with debugging and issue resolution across test and production environments
- Maintain clear technical documentation and use AI-assisted tools to support coding, testing, and documentation activities
What you bring
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring, Spring Boot and Kafka
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, and core software design principles
- Experience with RESTful APIs and integration within distributed systems or microservices architectures
- Working knowledge of Git and collaborative development practices within engineering teams
- Exposure to Kafka or similar messaging systems, with awareness of event-driven architecture
- Familiarity with cloud, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, alongside strong communication skills and a proactive, learning-focused mindset
