Network Security Engineer (Proxy)
Location: London (Hybrid - 3 days in the office)

The Role
Our client is a large multinational firm that provides a range of financial services, including advisory, investment, and asset management solutions. It serves a diverse set of clients worldwide, focusing on strategic planning, market operations, and long-term financial growth.

What you'll do

• Design, test, integrate and deploy web Proxy technologies
• Implement policy-driven security controls in collaboration with wider security teams
• Evaluate emerging technologies and industry practices to enhance existing capabilities
• Engage with vendors and internal engineering teams to deliver robust, secure solutions
• Provide guidance and training to support teams on newly implemented solutions

What you bring

• Professional background in network, infrastructure, Proxy engineering or web security, with hands-on delivery in enterprise environments
• Strong capability across Proxy platforms (Bluecoat, Zscaler, Netskope), including integrations such as ICAP, chaining and service offloading
• In-depth knowledge of networking fundamentals and protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL/TLS), with the ability to analyse traffic across OSI layers
• Experience securing and operating DMZ architectures, alongside cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Microsoft 365) and data protection controls
• Proven ability in troubleshooting, incident response and L3/L4 support within complex, large-scale systems
• Broad understanding of cyber threats, web malware mitigation and modern security approaches, with Scripting or certifications (eg CISSP, Python) advantageous
