Senior Data Governance Analyst

We are seeking a Senior Data Governance Analyst to join a newly formed and rapidly growing control centre of excellence. This is a high-impact role for an experienced data professional who will help define and drive data governance strategy across the bank. You will play a central role in enhancing regulatory reporting capabilities, supporting business alignment on data quality, and embedding robust data controls across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and oversight of data governance frameworks, policies, and standards.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on regulatory data governance, particularly around Product Sales Data (PSD) and related reporting requirements.

  • Act as a central point of contact for business units, translating regulatory and governance needs into actionable data requirements.

  • Build and optimise data quality controls; lead root cause analysis and remediation efforts.

  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools to communicate data quality metrics clearly and effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Lead the documentation of regulatory reporting obligations and ensure ongoing compliance with data governance standards.

  • Oversee the use and maintenance of the Data Dictionary and Critical Data Elements (CDEs).

  • Support and mentor junior analysts; contribute to shaping team culture, best practices, and future hiring decisions.

  • Collaborate with Risk, IT, and other key stakeholders to support federated governance model goals.

Key Requirements
  • Significant experience in data governance, data quality, or regulatory data management, preferably within financial services or banking.

  • Proven ability to lead the implementation of data controls and governance structures in a complex environment.

  • Strong technical proficiency in data tools (e.g., Alteryx, Tableau, SQL).

  • Expertise in data quality reporting, control design, and regulatory documentation.

  • Confident engaging with senior stakeholders, translating technical insights into business-aligned solutions.

  • Experience supporting regulatory change initiatives and managing reporting deliverables under tight deadlines.

  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, handle ambiguity, and contribute to the strategic growth of a function.
