The Robert Walters Consultancy Programme is seeking an experienced Principal Software Engineer with strong Seismic expertise to support the development and ongoing evolution of a business-critical sales enablement platform within a complex, regulated financial services environment.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on designing, building and integrating scalable solutions across the Seismic platform. You will work with engineering, architecture, product and business teams to improve platform capability, automate content-driven processes and ensure Seismic integrates effectively with CRM, client data and wider enterprise systems.
The successful candidate will combine practical Seismic delivery experience with strong software engineering, integration and technical leadership capabilities.
Key responsibilitiesLead the technical design, development and implementation of solutions across the Seismic platform.
Configure, enhance and maintain Seismic capabilities in line with business and user requirements.
Design integrations between Seismic and CRM, content management, client data and enterprise platforms.
Develop and maintain APIs, data flows and integration services supporting the Seismic ecosystem.
Translate business requirements into scalable, secure and supportable technical solutions.
Own delivery across design, development, testing, release and production support.
Work closely with product owners, business analysts, architects and engineering teams.
Identify opportunities to improve content workflows, automation, platform usability and operational efficiency.
Troubleshoot complex platform and integration issues, driving problems through to resolution.
Promote engineering quality through code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD and secure development practices.
Monitor platform performance, operational stability, upgrades and technical risks.
Provide clear technical guidance on platform capabilities, limitations and implementation options.
Mentor engineers and help establish reusable standards, patterns and best practices.
Communicate technical decisions, dependencies and risks to senior and non-technical stakeholders.
Essential skills and experience
Strong hands-on experience implementing, configuring or developing solutions using Seismic.
Experience integrating Seismic with CRM, content management, client data or other enterprise platforms.
Strong knowledge of APIs, system integrations, data flows and integration architecture.
Experience designing scalable, secure and maintainable enterprise software solutions.
Strong software engineering experience using technologies such as C#/.NET, Python, Node.js, JavaScript or TypeScript.
Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
Good understanding of CI/CD, automated testing, source control and modern DevOps practices.
Experience supporting business-critical platforms through release, maintenance and production support.
Strong troubleshooting skills across complex applications and platform integrations.
Excellent stakeholder communication and the ability to explain technical decisions clearly.
Experience providing technical leadership, mentoring engineers and improving engineering standards.
Desirable experience
Experience working with Seismic within financial services, asset management or another regulated environment.
Knowledge of CRM platforms such as Salesforce or Microsoft Dynamics.
Experience with content management or sales enablement platforms such as Highspot, Showpad or Adobe Experience Manager.
Knowledge of content automation, workflow management and digital asset processes.
Experience working across multiple concurrent projects or enterprise transformation programmes.
