This is your chance to work on cutting-edge technologies, solve complex problems and drive meaningful change in a collaborative and supportive culture.

About the Role:

As a Technical Team Lead, you'll manage a small team of 3-5 engineers, balancing hands-on technical leadership with people management and delivery excellence. You'll partner closely with Product and Design teams to solve real customer problems while continuously improving how software is built, shipped, and operated.

This is a player-coach role, where you'll remain technically credible while fostering an environment where your team can thrive and deliver at a high standard. You'll also embrace change, exploring the evolving impact of generative AI on the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Development:
    • Line manage engineers, supporting their performance, wellbeing, and career growth.
    • Set clear expectations and uphold high engineering standards.
    • Provide coaching, feedback, and tailored development plans.
    • Build a strong team culture focused on ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Delivery & Execution:
    • Own successful delivery of your team's roadmap with predictable outcomes.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to shape impactful work.
    • Remove blockers and optimize team flow for sustainable delivery practices.
  • Technical Leadership:
    • Provide technical direction across your team's domain.
    • Stay hands-on with architecture, critical components, and code reviews as needed.
    • Champion best practices like testing, observability, CI/CD, and security.
  • Engineering Excellence:
    • Embed modern software engineering practices across the team.
    • Promote continuous learning and experimentation.
    • Use data-driven metrics to guide decisions and improve processes.
  • Ownership & Accountability:
    • Take end-to-end ownership of services from design through production operations.
    • Ensure systems are reliable, observable, and supportable.
    • Lead incident response and post-incident learning within your team.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a senior engineer or tech lead for high-traffic fault-tolerant web applications (4+ years).
  • Expertise in C# and .NET Core in cloud-based environments; AWS knowledge is highly beneficial.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience motivating teams to achieve their best work.
  • Open to change and exploration of new ways of working, including leveraging AI tools in the SDLC.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices (coding standards, code reviews, source control management).
  • Familiarity with React.JS/Redux or willingness to learn them.
  • Experience developing features using TDD approaches.
  • Working knowledge of AWS ECS and containerization practices.
  • Understanding of Continuous Integration/Deployment pipelines (CI/CD).
  • Knowledge of design patterns and SOLID principles for high-quality code.

What's in It for You?

You'll have the opportunity to work on challenging greenfield projects using modern tech stacks while growing your career alongside industry experts who value innovation and collaboration.
