Transformation Director - Payments - Global Investment Bank
A leading international banking group is seeking a Transformation Director with deep expertise in the payments domain to join their Transformation and Change Management Group in London. To excel as Transformation Director - Payments you will bring substantial experience gained within major financial institutions where you have led large-scale payments portfolios or strategic change programmes. Your background should reflect deep technical knowledge of global payment systems alongside hands-on involvement in regulatory change projects that require careful navigation of compliance requirements. You will possess outstanding interpersonal abilities that enable you to connect with colleagues at all levels-whether guiding cross-functional teams through complex challenges or engaging executive sponsors on critical decisions. Your proven capacity for nurturing talent ensures that junior analysts benefit from your mentorship while contributing fresh ideas to ongoing initiatives.
Experience required;
- At least 10 years' experience in payments, cash management or transaction banking within large corporate or institutional banks at a senior portfolio management or strategy level.
- Proven track record in payments product management portfolio leadership or strategic programme delivery involving complex multi-year projects.
- Deep understanding of payment systems including SWIFT, CHAPS, SEPA, FPS as well as emerging real-time payment schemes.
- Comprehensive knowledge of ISO 20022 messaging standards, API connectivity solutions, payment hubs and digital payment ecosystems.
- Experience managing regulatory change initiatives related to market infrastructure modernisation or client solutioning within financial services.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build consensus among diverse stakeholders across business and technology teams.
- Professional certifications such as ACI or SWIFT Institute are preferred but not mandatory; willingness to pursue further qualifications is encouraged.
