What you'll do:

As Software Conversion Project Manager - UK Life Tax, you will play a central role in leading a transformative technology onboarding initiative. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve orchestrating every aspect of the project lifecycle-from initial requirements gathering through meticulous planning stages right up to final implementation. You will work closely with both internal teams and external clients to ensure that expectations are managed effectively and that all milestones are met on schedule. By leveraging your expertise in UK Life funds tax regulations alongside your proven project management abilities, you will guide your team through complex data configuration tasks and rigorous testing processes. Your ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levels will be essential for providing timely updates on progress while preparing insightful reports for senior management.

  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of a software conversion project for the UK Life Tax team, managing all phases including requirements gathering, planning, client communications, data configuration, testing, and final implementation.
  • Engage proactively with each client to present detailed conversion plans and timelines, ensuring clarity around go-live dates and addressing any queries or concerns throughout the process.
  • Provide regular status updates on conversion progress to both clients and internal senior management, maintaining transparency and escalating any delays or barriers to leadership as needed.
  • Lead a dedicated test team of three to four members, coordinating their activities to ensure thorough validation of outputs between legacy systems and new technology solutions.
  • Support comprehensive testing efforts by collaborating with testers across multiple locations, including the UK and Poland, guaranteeing accuracy and reliability of system outputs.
  • Utilise advanced data analytics skills to compare, reconcile, and validate outputs from legacy systems against those generated by the new platform.
  • Prepare detailed reports for clients or senior management covering incidents, proposals, or other relevant areas as required by operational needs.
  • Attend and contribute meaningfully to operational, client-facing, risk management, audit, and regulatory meetings as part of your commitment to robust governance.
  • Ensure that all communications-whether written or verbal-with clients and internal stakeholders are accurate, clear, concise, and delivered professionally at all times.
  • Implement effective communication tools within your team to facilitate smooth information flow up and down the organisation.

What you bring:

  • Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or equivalent qualification is required for this role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in UK Life funds tax rules including capital gains tax regulations such as deemed disposal spreading, loss utilisation/offsetting strategies, asset classification protocols and loan relationship rules.
  • Proven experience managing system software conversions within financial services environments is essential for success.
  • Exceptional project management capabilities with a track record of developing detailed plans that support successful delivery of complex projects.
  • Outstanding people-management skills combined with operations management experience enable you to motivate teams towards shared goals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills allow you to engage confidently with clients as well as internal stakeholders at all levels.
  • Advanced proficiency in PC applications including PowerPoint, MS Office Suite and Outlook ensures efficient handling of documentation and presentations.
