VP Senior Azure Cloud Engineer (Design & Migration) - Banking

Our client, a global financial service is embarking on a major Azure, multi-cloud transformation programme across Europe. As part of this journey, we are looking to hire several talented cloud experts to play a key role in shaping the future cloud landscape. You will be involved in designing cloud architecture, establishing landing zones, and leading migration initiatives, helping to drive the organisation's cloud adoption and transformation strategy forward.

What you'll do:

• Design, implement, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure and services to support business objectives.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD DevSecOps tools.
• Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Azure cloud environments, ensuring high availability, resilience, and performance.
• Partner with Information Security teams to implement and manage cloud security best practices, including identity and access management, data encryption, threat detection, and compliance controls.
• Collaborate with development and engineering teams to integrate cloud solutions with existing applications and platforms.
• Stay current with emerging Azure technologies, cloud services, and industry best practices.
• Participate in the evaluation, selection, and adoption of new Azure-based technologies and services.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of cloud operations, governance, and engineering processes.

What you'll bring:

• Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer, supporting and building enterprise-scale Azure cloud platforms.
• Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and Azure services, including networking, storage, security, governance, and core cloud models such as IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
• Experience designing and implementing cloud environments within regulated organisations, including Landing Zones, Azure Enterprise-Scale Architecture, governance frameworks, networking, and connectivity solutions, would be highly advantageous.
• Strong hands-on experience with Terraform (IaC), Docker, and Kubernetes (AKS experience preferred).
• Solid understanding of Azure Identity and Access Management, including Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), RBAC, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and security best practices.
• Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, and/or Python.
• Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Security Engineer) would be beneficial.
• Full right to work in Dublin is a mandatory requirement.
• Experience working in financial services are strongly preferred.
