Vice President Investment Banking

We are currently engaged on behalf of a leading European investment bank to appoint a Vice President within its Software Investment Banking team in London.

This is a rare opportunity to join a well-established technology franchise with growing momentum across software and digital infrastructure, advising high-growth businesses, private equity sponsors, and strategic acquirers on complex M&A and capital markets transactions across EMEA.

The platform offers strong deal flow, senior client exposure, and the opportunity to play a leading role in originating and executing transactions within one of the bank’s highest-priority verticals.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of M&A and strategic advisory transactions across the software sector
• Manage day-to-day client relationships and serve as a key point of contact throughout live mandates
• Oversee financial analysis, valuation workstreams, transaction structuring, and marketing materials
• Support senior bankers in origination efforts and idea generation across software subsectors including SaaS, vertical software, cybersecurity, fintech, and enterprise technology
• Coordinate internal teams and external advisers through transaction processes
• Mentor and develop junior team members across execution and analytical workstreams
• Contribute to franchise development and broader sector coverage initiatives

Candidate Requirements

• 6–8 years of relevant investment banking experience, ideally within software coverage
• Strong M&A execution experience with exposure to cross-border transactions
• Excellent financial modelling, valuation, and client management capabilities
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple live processes simultaneously
• Commercial mindset with strong communication and presentation skills
• Experience interacting directly with senior corporate executives and financial sponsors
• Prior software sector experience strongly preferred
• Degree educated with an outstanding academic background
