Rate: £500 per day - Outside IR35

Overview

We are seeking an experienced AI Engineer to join on a 6-month contract, supporting the design and development of AI-driven solutions with a strong focus on Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). This role will suit someone with a solid software engineering foundation who is comfortable working across the full development life cycle in a cloud-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain AI engineering solutions with a primary focus on Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
• Build and enhance Python-based services and components to support AI and data-driven workflows.
• Apply strong software engineering principles to produce clean, maintainable, and scalable code.
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical implementations.
• Support deployment, monitoring, and operational aspects of solutions using DevOps practices.
• Work within AWS-based environments to develop, test, and run applications in the cloud.
• Contribute to improving system reliability, performance, and scalability through continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in AI Engineering, specifically working with RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) approaches.
• Strong Python development experience in a production environment.
• Solid software engineering background, with experience designing and building reliable systems.
• Hands-on DevOps experience, supporting build, deployment, and operational processes.
• Practical experience working with AWS services in a commercial setting.
