Software Implementation Consultant
What you will do
Turn requirements into a build
- Read the Statement of Work, configuration documents, and discovery materials, and translate business and styling requirements into a configuration steps.
- Work out the user journeys the customer needs, then configure them directly in the product, linking or configuring optional services such as applications, bookings and payments as required.
- Identify and resolve requirement gaps, contradictions, and assumptions early, avoiding late-stage rework.
Prove it meets the brief
- Validate the finished configuration against the original requirements, line by line.
- Peer review other analysts’ builds before they reach a customer and submit your own to the same scrutiny.
- Run the acceptance workshop with the customer, live in the product, alongside the Project Manager. Small changes are made on the call, larger changes may need to be taken away.
- Work with the Project Manager to keep your work within the scope sold. Where a customer request sits outside of the scope of the Statement of Work, flag it early so it can be resolved commercially.
Work hand-in-hand with stakeholders
- Liaise with Product Owners on where the platform works well and where it needs enhancement. Your configuration experience is the best evidence the business has of product gaps, so we expect you to use it.
- Coordinate with Cloud Operations so deployments land on schedule and run smoothly.
- Manage the transition into Support. The team should inherit a build and accompanying documentation they can support, not one they have to reverse-engineer.
Document for machines as well as people
- Write specifications and build documentation as structured markdown, fit for AI ingestion. Documentation is an integral part of delivering the solution, not an afterthought to it.
- Create and maintain agentic skills that carry out the repeatable parts of configuration work, and keep them current as the platform changes.
What we are looking for
Essential
- The ability to read a requirement and see the workflow behind it.
- Exposure to software delivery, systems administration, business analysis or a configuration-heavy support role.
- Communication skills, written and spoken. This is not a soft requirement here. You will be the same person explaining a constraint to a customer, a scope risk to Commercial, a product gap to a Product Owner and a build decision to Support.
- Systematic by temperament. You work in a structured manner, you finish what you start, and you notice when something does not add up.
- Curiosity about AI tooling. You do not need to have used it. You do need to want to!
- Confidence in front of customers, including when the answer is no.
- Comfort working to a scope document and holding the line on it.
Skills we will train
You are not expected to arrive with these. They are what you will pick up here, and they are the reason the role is worth having on a CV:
- Structuring documentation so that AI tooling can use it.
- Authoring and maintaining agentic skills that do the repeatable parts of a configuration build.
- Our platform, our sector, and the way a Statement of Work translates into a working system.
- Running a customer delivery workstream from Statement of Work to Support handover.
