About the Role

We are looking for a Site-Based Data Cabling Project Manager to oversee the day-to-day coordination and delivery of structured cabling projects directly at customer locations. This is a hands-on, presence-led role where youll act as the primary on-site leadmanaging engineers, ensuring work quality, and keeping projects running safely and efficiently.

Youll be responsible for ensuring all installation activities meet project specifications, industry standards, deadlines, and health & safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all on-site activities for data cabling projects (Cat5e/6/6a, fibre, containment, cabinets, pathways).
• Provide daily direction to cabling engineers and subcontractors on site.
• Carry out on-site surveys, assess risks, and update RAMS accordingly.
• Monitor work quality, perform inspections, and ensure compliance with standards and customer requirements.
• Maintain project schedules on site and handle real-time issue resolution.
• Ensure strict health & safety compliance, toolbox talks, and site audits.
• Liaise directly with the client on site, providing progress updates and managing expectations.
• Oversee material deliveries, stock levels, and site logistics.
• Ensure accurate documentation, test results, and handover packs are completed on site.

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience delivering site-based structured cabling projects.
• Strong knowledge of cabling standards, installation methods, containment systems, and fibre/Cat6 testing.
• Confident leading engineering teams and managing site operations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to make quick, informed decisions.
• Strong communication and customer-handling skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and site plans.
• ECS/CSCS card (or ability to obtain).
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

• Previous experience as a Site Manager or Cabling Supervisor.
• Manufacturer accreditations (e.g., Excel, Commscope, Panduit, Nexans).
• Project management certifications (Prince2, APM, or equivalent).
• Experience working on enterprise, construction, or public-sector sites.
