You’ll combine hands-on technical implementation with full ownership of delivery – from design through build, test, and transition into service. - Deploying and configuring enterprise technologies (primarily Cisco and Palo Alto)
- Owning on-site delivery, testing, commissioning, and handover to Managed Services
- Producing high-quality as-built documentation and configuration records
- Supporting transition into service, including knowledge transfer and early life support
- Working closely with Managed Services, Microsoft teams, vendors, and third parties
- Identifying risks, managing dependencies, and ensuring delivery to agreed standards
- Contributing technical insight to future change, improvements, and pre-sales activity
- Building strong customer relationships as a trusted technical advisor
Essential experience:
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco enterprise networking
- Experience with enterprise firewalls (Cisco, Palo Alto, or similar)
- Solid Layer 2 & 3 networking knowledge (VLANs, routing, STP, DHCP, DNS)
- Experience delivering solutions into managed service or operational environments
- Strong troubleshooting skills in live production environments
- Comfortable working from LLDs and implementation plans
- Proven ability to produce clear, structured technical documentation
Desirable experience:
- Palo Alto, Cisco Meraki, Juniper, or Fortinet technologies
- NAC solutions (Cisco ISE, Aruba ClearPass)
- SD-WAN or software-defined networking
- Network automation or scripting exposure
- Experience in secure or regulated environments (e.g. nuclear, defence, public sector)
Certifications (or equivalent experience):
- CCNA / CCNP, JNCIP, NSE4+ or similar
What You’ll Need
- Willingness to travel regularly to the North of Scotland and stay overnight when required
- Full UK driving licence (preferred)
- Eligibility for UK Security Clearance (SC)
