Staff AI Engineer - Platform & Agent Systems - FinTech

Excellent opportunity opens for a Staff AI Engineer to join a growing FinTech and take ownership of the architecture, governance, and operational framework behind advanced AI and agent-based systems. This is a unique opportunity to influence the technical direction of a greenfield platform where AI is being Embedded as a foundational capability rather than an add-on feature. This role sits at the intersection of AI engineering, distributed systems, platform architecture, and governance.

You'll play a leading role in defining how intelligent agents are created, managed, monitored, and safely deployed within a complex enterprise environment. Working alongside senior product and engineering stakeholders, you will help establish the technical standards, tooling, and operational frameworks that enable AI capabilities to scale securely and reliably.

Main Responsibilities

• Designing the platform architecture that supports intelligent agent deployment and life cycle management
• Establishing frameworks for agent permissions, controls, execution boundaries, and decision-making autonomy
• Building observability and evaluation mechanisms to measure performance, reliability, accuracy, and operational cost
• Driving technical decisions around AI infrastructure, orchestration, and platform capabilities
• Collaborating closely with software engineers, architects, and product teams on platform-wide design initiatives
• Implementing safeguards and governance measures suitable for regulated environments
• Ensuring AI systems remain scalable, resilient, secure, and production ready
• Contributing to the longer-term AI strategy and technical roadmap

Key Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering, machine learning, or AI-focused experience
• Experience within FinTech, Banking, Payments or other highly regulated sectors
• Exposure to agent orchestration frameworks, evaluation platforms, and model monitoring solutions
• Experience building internal AI platforms or enterprise AI infrastructure
• Proven experience delivering AI-powered products into production environments
• Strong background designing autonomous or semi-autonomous agent systems
• Experience creating governance frameworks, approval workflows, operational controls, and oversight mechanisms
• Deep knowledge of LLM ecosystems, orchestration frameworks, and AI tooling
• Strong software engineering skills, ideally with Python and cloud-native architectures
• Experience working with distributed platforms, APIs, microservices, and event-driven systems
• Understanding of security, compliance, and risk considerations within complex enterprise environments
• Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Ability to influence technical direction and work effectively across senior stakeholder groups
