Job summary

The Senior Digital Applications Developer is a key senior member of theDigital Data & Technology (DDaT) team, adding value for our patientsthrough improving and developing digital services across the Trust andwider health and care system.A central role in maintaining and developing and electronic patient recordsolution and enabling infrastructure to the Trust. The postholder will provideintensive advice to high-level line managers, contribute to the overall DigitalApplications strategy and lead other junior developers. They will haveexperience of programme management.Digital Applications including EPR provide clinicians with access to all theinformation they need about patients; with an integrated suite of softwareproviding an integrated record of care, supporting them to deliver safe, highquality care every time. It is critical to and underpins meeting national,regional and local strategic policies. It supports provision of modern, safeand effective care, and supports meeting the national 'paper-free at thepoint of care' policy.Ensure their team is an effective component of the Trust's Digital Data &Technology (DDaT) target operating model, working alongside others,delivering continuous overall improvement.Work closely with other digital development colleagues, bringing togetherpreviously separate teams to deliver within the overall Trust's vision.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work with clinical teams to ensure alignment of priorities to achieve the overall development plan and support staff to develop and improve the EPR for all clinical services across the Trust. Improving patient safety, quality of care and patient experience is an explicit priority rather than an assumption and needs to underpin all elements of the implementation and beyond.oEnsure appropriate planning and support is in place to enable successful service transition, driving operational change and removing unwarranted variation.oLead the ongoing cycle of digital applications process improvement, continually identifying areas of opportunity for development and work with appropriate teams to implement system improvement.oWork closely with senior clinical teams to ensure alignment of goals and priorities to achieve successful implementation of digital applications, working as a liaison between clinical and operational services and DDaT and the system suppliers.

Person Specification

Skills

Essential
  • Able to coach and lead teams in Agile and Lean processes
  • 5+ years of developing in Cerner EPR
Desirable
  • Experience in delivering Commercial IT Solutions to a mixed Client base
  • Practitioner level understanding of PRINCE2 methodology and control documentation or equivalent
