Training and Digital Learning Specialist
Job summary
The Training and Digital Learning Specialist is responsible for the effective delivery of training programs related to digital applications.
This role ensures that clinical and non-clinical staff are proficient in using healthcare systems, contributing to efficient and safe patient care across the Trust. The post holder will work closely with the Senior Training and Digital Learning Specialist and the Knowledge Training and Digital Learning Lead to implement training strategies and support the Trust's digital transformation.
The role requires strong communication, organisational skills, and the ability to work within established protocols to ensure that all staff receive appropriate and effective training. The post holder will be responsible for delivering training to various staff groups, supporting the wider clinical systems training team, and contributing to the continuous improvement of training materials and processes.
Main duties of the job
Deliver training programs for digital applications, ensuring that all clinical and non-clinical staff are trained according to their roles and responsibilities, with a focus on enhancing their daily workflows.
- Support the design and development of training materials, including classroom-based sessions, e-learning modules, and guides, tailored to different staff groups and learning needs.
- Work with clinical teams and department managers to schedule and deliver training in alignment with operational needs, ensuring minimal disruption to service delivery.
- Conduct post-training evaluations to assess staff competency, user proficiency, and overall satisfaction, and suggest improvements to the training curriculum based on feedback.
- Create and maintain an effective, easy to use repository of created learning interventions (video, guides, practice/step-through modules, hints&tips).
- For new functionality support project related learning that encompasses pre/during/post go-live activities and with training collateral, and then transition to BAU

Person Specification
Education, Qualifications and Training
- Relevant qualification in training, education, or equivalent experience in healthcare training delivery
- IT literate with strong proficiency in clinical systems, particularly Cerner or similar EPR systems.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Certified Cerner Trainer or equivalent clinical systems certification.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in healthcare, IT, or education.
- Experience and evidence of creating engaging and interactive digital e-learning content
Knowledge and Experience
- Significant experience in delivering training on clinical applications, particularly Cerner EPR or similar systems.
- Familiarity with NHS workflows and standards, especially in using digital systems for patient care and data management.
- Proven ability to design, develop, and deliver engaging and effective training sessions.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and organise training sessions effectively, balancing multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing own workload and contributing to team objectives.
- Analytical skills to evaluate the effectiveness of training and make informed recommendations for improvement.
- Experience with Cerner EPR systems.
- Experience in e-learning development and virtual training delivery.
