SharePoint Developer

In support of RBG Kew's mission, you will be responsible to provide SharePoint development support for the SharePoint project through the phases of delivery. The project will primarily be setting up SharePoint on a best practice architecture, moving/ updating existing sites, depending on the current sites can be updated to modern sites. Providing the SharePoint technical and development steer on the project.  This will be achieved by working closely with the IT team, Records Management and stakeholders who own or require SharePoint sites and their requirements.

This role will be instrumental in delivering a clearly defined process for managing SharePoint within the organisation, ensuring efficient data management across SharePoint sites and enhancing collaboration across teams.

As detailed in the Job Profile, the Essential person specification criteria are listed below:

  • Educated to degree level in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Extensive experience developing and managing SharePoint solutions, including SharePoint Online, or hybrid environments.
  • Strong proficiency in  SharePoint development, including SharePoint Framework (SPFx), Power Automate, Power Apps, and integration with Microsoft 365 services.
  • Experience in  SharePoint governance, security, and user management, ensuring best practices are followed for permissions, site structures, and data protection.
  • Hands-on experience with  Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power BI, Power Apps) to automate processes and enhance SharePoint functionality.
  • Knowledge of  SharePoint migration strategies, including experience with migration tools.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail with written and verbal communication, with the ability to produce high-quality documentation, including technical specifications, governance policies, and status reports.

    This role is based at Kew with the option of regular home working, subject to operational requirements

    The salary for this position is £59,550 - £69,343 per annum (pro rata), depending on skills and experience [Band F7]
