Website and Digital Content Manager
Working hours – full time (35 hours a week) - you’ll agree your working pattern with your manager (core working hours are 10:00 - 16:00).
Location – Liverpool or London, hybrid homeworking (minimum 6 days a month in office)
Are you passionate about optimising websites and enhancing user engagement? We’re looking for a Website and Digital Content Manager to play a pivotal role in improving the Royal College of Physicians’ online presence. Working within the Communications, Policy and Research directorate, you’ll lead on content management, maintenance and analytics for our website—ensuring it effectively represents our brand, engages our audiences and meets organisational objectives.
Purpose and scope
Key responsibilities
- Create and publish high-quality, user-focused digital content aligned to organisational objectives and audience needs
- Manage day-to-day website maintenance, troubleshooting issues and liaising with external suppliers
- Act as content lead for the RCP website, working across teams to optimise user experience and champion digital best practice
- Use web analytics (GA4), user behaviour data and engagement metrics to identify opportunities for improvement
- Lead qualitative and quantitative user research
- Monitor performance and make recommendations to stakeholders and senior managers
- Support the Senior Digital Engagement Manager in delivering a proactive digital strategy
Your experience
Essential
- Proven experience delivering high-quality digital content from brief to publication
- Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills, with the ability to write in plain English
- Experience using Umbraco or similar CMS platforms
- Strong experience of website analytics tracking and performance analysis, including GA4
- Good understanding of SEO principles and tools
- Expert knowledge of user experience and usability best practice
- Experience of managing priorities, backlogs and product roadmaps
- Confidence facilitating discussions and presenting to varied audiences
Desirable
- Interest or experience in the health sector
- A keen eye for web design
- Familiarity with project management tools such as JIRA and Trello
- Experience mapping user journeys across platforms
- Experience of paid search or social advertising
