Disclosure Team Co-ordinator

Job summary

An opportunity has arisen in the Information Governance Department for an enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Disclosure Team Co-ordinator. Under UK Data Protection legislation data subjects have a right to have access to and copies of their records, and under the Freedom of Information Act the public are allowed to request corporate information, this role is to assist in the provision of these requests.

You will be involved in all aspects of leading a team, including recruitment, training and appraisals whilst operationally locating personal files and preparing them for disclosure to a tight deadline. The department is fast paced and would suit someone that can cope with pressure and has good IT literacy skills.

Main duties of the job

To be responsible for meeting deadlines by allocating and prioritising workload to those working within the Disclosure function of Information Governance..

To co-ordinate a team a small team of staff delivering against legislation.

To support the Information Governance management team to meet the Trust' obligations under the Data Protection Act, Access to Health Records Act and Freedom of Information Act.

To assist with the day-to- day support, induction, and training of more junior staff.

To ensure that all personal identifiable information is processed in a secure manner and to ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times.

To provide support for the management team within Information Governance to deliver the wider Information Governance agenda.

Person Specification

Essential

Essential
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent to include English and Maths
  • Extensive knowledge, experience and understanding of the Data Protection Act 2018, the Access to Health Records Act 1990 Freedom of Information Act.
  • Previous experience of working within an office environment
  • Proven communication skills both verbally and written
Desirable
  • PAS Basic Modules & other hospital IT systems
  • Calm, logical and methodical approach to workload
  • Knowledge of hospital activity

  • Evidence experience of attention to detail with regard to accuracy and numeracy
