Maintenance Operative (Electrical)
Job summary

Main duties of the job
To carry out routine and non-complex work activities
Carry out planned preventative maintenance in accordance with Trust procedures.
Carry out minor works and repairs to Electrical systems
Carry out PAT testing of Electrical equipment
Carry out replacement of lighting, fire detection, nurse call and other electrical equipment
Support and assist the Electrical craft team in their duties as required
To undertake general maintenance activities at the request of the Team Leaders.
To be prepared to work in potentially hazardous areas taking all safety measures to prevent danger, avoid injury and prevent damage to equipment.
To actively participate in the operation and control of engineering planned maintenance schemes, including maintaining and updating recording systems as required, including paper based or electronic
Actively participate in any departmental management processes and systems including completion of any paperwork/documentation required of the scheme. (Including completion of all job records, timesheets, etc.).
Work over-time by exception to carry out maintenance activities outside of normal working hours where required and assist with the completion of emergency repairs as required by the Team Leader and/or other Estate Managers
Undertake 'Recall to Work' duties, to assist with the completion of emergency repairs occurring out of normal hours.
Participate in and undertake 'On Call' duties in line with current Trust Policy and Estate Operations requirements.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Good basic education GCSE qualification or equivalent in Maths and English
- C&G Level 2 Electrical Qualification or similar
- C & G Level 3 Electrical Qualification or similar
- PAT testing qualification
- BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
Experience
- All round knowledge of maintenance of buildings or similar environments.
- Electrical Maintenance skills
- Familiarity with system testing procedures
- Experience of working in a Healthcare Environment
- Basic Plumbing skills
- Basic Carpentry skills
- Basic Mechanical skills
- Clearing Drains
- PAT testing
- Electrical Installation
Skills
- Must be able to interpret and follow work instructions
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- Good written and verbal communication skills. Computer literate.
- Must demonstrate by experience the ability to use tools accurately and confidently.
- Knowledge of building services and terminology
