Research Digital Systems Specialist (CRDC)
Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Commercial Research Delivery Centre (CRDC) as a Research Digital Systems Specialist. This is a crucial role within the CRDC responsible for implementation and maintenance of digital systems across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly and ensuring data is captured consistently, accurately and timely across the service.
Assisting the Research Delivery Manager with the delivery of day-to-day tasks and projects, taking ownership of work stream progress, and other elements of project support, under the supervision of the Research Delivery Manager.
Support improvement of Research & CRDC Systems and promote service development and improvement within the CRDC. Develop current processes and manage elements of projects to improve IT systems. Deliver training where necessary on use of IT systems and processes. To deputise for Research Delivery Manager where required.

Main duties of the job
The Research Department consists of several specialties that all use the same Research digital systems and a variety of other software, to ensure data is timely and accurate. The department recruits more than 4000 research participants every year and this data needs to be captured on multiple systems to ensure it is recorded accurately and the Trust is reimbursed currently.
The post holder will work under the supervision of the Research Delivery Manager in a small team supporting Research & CRDC staff across Cornwall & the Isles of Scilly.
The post holder will ensure the maintenance of the Research & CRDC IT Systems and timely resolution of IT problems in the provision of an efficient service to the healthcare community and local population .
The post holder is expected to maintain high standards, efficient time management, good organisation skills, the ability to prioritise whilst under pressure.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Degree in an, IT related subject or equivalent experience.
- CSE / GCSE in 4 subjects including Math's, Science and English.
- IT qualifications, eg: European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) or equivalent experience.
Experience
- Experience of working in a IT support role.
- Experience of working within clinical software and appreciation of system administration.
- Research digital IT software support role experience.
- Research experience.
- Practical experience of problem solving/repair of IT hardware.
Practical and Intellectual Skills
- Motivated and a positive attitude to teamwork
