Software Developer

Job summary

The software developer will be working within the development team of the Trust's Digital department.

The role will be to provide software engineering including application development to support the hospital IT development strategy, using specialist systems, analysis and programming skills.

Design, develop or adapt complex software, including installation and maintenance of complex software.

To provide automated process solutions.

Undertake technical problem solving. Provide specialist advice to staff on systems and policies. To integrate the Trust's electronic record with other clinical systems. Provide a working knowledge of data structure, design and relationships.

We are looking for an experienced individual with excellent coding skills and ability to work as part of a busy team. You will have the ability to work on your own initiative and to prioritise your workload.

Main duties of the job

Provide bespoke software solutions for process automation, system integration and data provision.

Analyse, investigate and recommend technical solutions to meet highly complex data storage and reporting needs.

Develop custom scripts, views, procedures and report information to meet Trust requirements.

Safeguard the security and confidentiality of personal data by ensuring the appropriate access, security and back up of information systems, as necessary to preserve the integrity of data and other files.

Develop a working knowledge of the Trust data warehouse in order to facilitate the provision of data.

Make informed judgements across a range of options based on available data, this may include analysing bugs and resolving issues.

Qualifications

Essential
  • BSc Degree in Computing or a numerate discipline or relevant experience
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
Desirable
  • Microsoft certification (such as MCTS/MCSA)
  • Project management qualification
  • Foundation management course

Experience

Essential
  • SQL, T-SQL, C#, Visual StudioAPIs
  • Relevant coding experience
  • Working understanding of data structures
Desirable
  • React, SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Integration Services, WinForms, WPF
  • ASP.Net, MVC, Web Forms, Javascript, HTML, XAML, CSS, FHIR APIs, REST, SOAP, HL7 messaging. Batch scripts and Powershell scripts
