Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Clinical Informatics Training team for a Lead Digital Trainer, specialising in content development.
This is a technical and supervisory role to support service and team development.
Main duties of the job
You will be a technical specialist in the design and delivery of digital systems training and content development, across different formats and platforms.
You will be highly experienced in; training delivery, creating new elearning and classroom courses, learning management system administration, as well as technical skills in elearning and quiz design.
You will have strong demonstrable communication skills, engaging with staff across all levels to support course design and can demonstrate EPR knowledge and skills.
Ideally, you will be a subject matter expert in EPR systems, such as Oracle Millennium and have experience of working in a health environment.
You will also be experienced in service improvement and have had supervisory responsibilities of junior team members.
A standard DBS check will be required for the role. Some evening and weekend may be required to meet deadlines, so flexibility with regard to working hours is essential.

Work with the Training and Service Transition Manager and Trainers to design, develop and deliver end user training to all staff across the Royal Surrey Foundation TrustDevelop training plans aligned to the Trusts Clinical Informatics training strategyDesign, develop and manage elearning contentDeputise for the Training and Service Transition ManagerFunction as a Subject Matter Expert across a variety of topics, such as the Trusts Electronic Patient Record (EPR)Oversee and participate in the production and maintenance of user documentation including guidance on information governance and data protection standards
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Degree level education or equivalent specialist knowledge acquired through relevant experience
- Training related qualifications; for example TAP, City and Guilds 7307/7407 or equivalent
- Accredited Clinical IT Systems trainer; Cerner Sunquest ICE, EMIS or equivalent.
- Training Assessor qualification; for example TAP, NVQ or equivalent
- Additional IT related qualifications
Knowledge
- Experience in delivering training for EPR systems
- Experience in delivering Oracle Millennium systems training as business as usual and for implementations
- Experience of designing and delivering EPR training across multi-levels of staff
- Thorough understanding of Microsoft Office applications
- Solid grasp of training principles and methodology
- Specialist knowledge and experience in designing elearning content.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Understanding of clinical and non-clinical healthcare processes
- Understanding of change management issues and approaches
- Experience supervising staff
- Experience of working in an IT training environment
- Experience of using technology to improve working practices
- Experience in design and communication of marketing media e.g. MS SharePoint, posters, email.
- Understanding of 'TAP' training methodology
- Familiarity with NHS patient related data
- Familiarity with information security and confidentiality and data quality issues
- Experience of working in an NHS environment
- Experience of working in a clinical environment in an acute setting
