MDU Build Engineer

Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for MDU Build Engineer on a 6 Month Contract, based in Kent.

Role Summary

An MDU Build Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the installation and delivery of network infrastructure within multi-unit residential or commercial buildings. This includes managing fiber, coax, or copper network builds from design through to activation, ensuring compliance with technical standards, safety regulations, and project timelines. The engineer liaises with developers, contractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless integration of network services, troubleshoot build issues, and maintain accurate documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

• Lead Fibre Installations: Run internal fibre from the telecoms network entry point to all floors of the building, ensuring seamless connections and efficiency.
• Technical Expertise: Terminate fibres into RDT (Riser Distribution Terminals) and breakout boxes, managing both internal and external cabling to the highest standard.
• Ensure Compliance: Complete installations in full accordance with fire safety regulations, including fire stopping for internal cabling.
• Work from Plans: Read, interpret, and execute building surveys and plans to deliver precise installations, ensuring excellent customer satisfaction at every stage.
• Advanced Fibre Techniques: Install Blown Fibre Tubing (BFT), blow fibre, test rod and rope underground cable routes, and perf

• Experience in cabling and splicing on the openreach network, to install MDU (multiple dwelling units) they will need to have relevant experiecne on installs and splicing
