Salary: £80,000 - £95,000 per annum, depending on experience + benefits

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Civils Reporting Lead to join a major UK infrastructure programme, taking a senior leadership role within the programme reporting and project controls function.

This is a key position responsible for leading and developing a reporting team, overseeing the delivery of high-quality programme reporting and turning complex project data into clear, meaningful insights for senior leadership and key stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have around 10 years' experience in reporting, project controls or a closely related discipline, with significant experience working in a leadership role on major infrastructure or capital projects valued at £1 billion or more.

You will be comfortable operating in complex, high-pressure programme environments, managing teams and multiple stakeholders while maintaining a strong focus on accuracy, quality and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, develop and mentor reporting teams within a complex programme environment.
  • Oversee the end-to-end development and production of programme reporting and reporting products.
  • Establish and maintain robust reporting frameworks, processes and controls.
  • Ensure reporting outputs are accurate, validated, consistent and tailored to different stakeholder requirements.
  • Produce high-quality executive reports, dashboards and performance packs for senior leadership.
  • Analyse complex project data and translate it into meaningful business insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Work closely with Project Controls disciplines including Planning, Cost, Risk and Change Management.
  • Ensure reporting aligns with appropriate project structures, including WBS, CBS and OBS.
  • Identify trends, inconsistencies, risks and opportunities within project data and challenge reporting where required.
  • Drive continuous improvement across reporting processes and promote the use of digital reporting solutions.
  • Utilise Power BI, Excel and data visualisation techniques to improve reporting capability and automation.
  • Work collaboratively with integrated delivery teams, contractors and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Establish strong working relationships across the programme and influence stakeholders to achieve reporting objectives.
  • Support the development of best practice across project controls, reporting and data analytics.
  • Manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality.
  • Lead and support initiatives that improve reporting efficiency, data quality and business intelligence capability.

About You

We are looking for an experienced reporting or project controls professional who can demonstrate:

  • Approximately 10 years' relevant experience, ideally gained within major infrastructure, construction or capital programmes.
  • Previous experience working in a senior/lead reporting position.
  • Experience working on major projects/programmes valued at £1 billion+.
  • Proven experience leading, managing, developing and mentoring reporting or project controls teams.
  • Significant experience delivering programme reporting across complex infrastructure or major capital projects.
  • Strong understanding of Project Controls, i ncluding Planning, Cost, Risk and Change Management.
  • Proven ability to produce executive-level reports, dashboards and performance packs for senior leadership.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel capability and experience using Power BI, data visualisation and reporting automation.
  • Strong understanding of project structures including WBS, CBS and OBS and how these support effective reporting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
  • Ability to interpret large volumes of project data and turn them into meaningful business insights.
  • Experience working within integrated delivery teams and alongside multiple contractors and stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders to deliver reporting objectives and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment and deliver results under pressure.
