Product Manager - Digital Technology & Change

Location: Solihull (Hybrid - 1-2 days per month in office)

Contract Duration: 3 Months

Day Rate: £650 / day (Inside IR35)

Working Hours: Full-Time (37 hours per week)



The Role

As a Product Manager, you will hold end-to-end accountability for the direction and success of core digital products across their lifecycle. Sitting at the intersection of customer needs, commercial goals, and technical capabilities, you will shape product vision, set roadmaps, prioritize investment, and deliver measurable business value.

This is a high-impact, strategic, and hands-on position requiring strong customer focus, commercial acumen, data-led decision-making, and robust stakeholder management within a modern, product-led DevOps operating environment.



Key Responsibilities

  • Vision & Strategy: Define and communicate product vision, strategy, and roadmaps aligned with target customer and business outcomes.

  • Product Lifecycle Ownership: Manage products end-to-end from discovery and delivery through adoption, ongoing optimization, and retirement.

  • Discovery & Innovation: Lead discovery activities including user research, hypothesis testing, prototyping, and solution shaping to build deep domain insights.

  • Backlog & Investment Prioritization: Prioritize product backlogs and investment decisions based on ROI, strategic fit, user insight, and technical feasibility.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with business leaders, software engineering, enterprise architecture, design, data, and delivery teams.

  • Outcome & Value Tracking: Establish product goals, OKRs, and KPIs to continuously measure and evidence delivered value.

  • Risk & Trade-off Management: Proactively balance trade-offs across scope, effort, cost, dependencies, and delivery risk.

  • Agile Advocacy: Champion outcome-focused, customer-centric, and continuous improvement ways of working across the organization.



What We Are Looking For

Essential

  • Proven track record as a Product Manager or Product Owner within an Agile, DevOps, or product-led operating environment.

  • Strong expertise in product strategy, roadmap planning, backlog refinement, and value-driven prioritization.

  • Hands-on experience leading user research, data analysis, hypothesis-driven discovery, and outcome-focused execution.

  • Exceptional commercial awareness, communication, facilitation, and stakeholder influence skills.



Desirable

  • Experience operating within the energy, utilities, or regulated sectors.

  • Familiarity with Product Operating Models, OKR frameworks, and formal product management certifications.
