Automation Engineer – Data Analytics Platforms
Location: Remote (UK)
Duration: 6 months
Pay Rate: Open to negotiation (depending on experience)
About the Role
Join a prestigious global consulting firm’s data analytics team that empowers users across multiple regions with best-in-class analytics solutions. You’ll help streamline workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and make data tools like Tableau, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and KNIME easy to use for employees worldwide.
This is a high-impact role where your automation skills will directly improve efficiency and adoption of analytics platforms at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement automation workflows across analytics platforms.
- Build and maintain self-serve applications for internal users using product APIs.
- Integrate and manage cloud-based services (Azure, AWS) across platforms.
- Develop and maintain REST APIs to enable seamless communication between tools.
- Monitor system performance and implement improvements to ensure reliability.
- Collaborate with global teams in Agile sprints, contributing to daily stand-ups and planning sessions.
NOTE - This is not a general IT automation engineer .
They need someone who can automate processes for analytics platforms (Tableau, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, KNIME) and integrate them with cloud services (Azure, AWS).
Skills & Experience
Mandatory:
- Strong programming skills in Python AND (JavaScript, or TypeScript) .
- Experience with automation, API integration, and workflow orchestration .
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure and/or AWS).
- Ability to build and maintain REST APIs and backend services .
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control (GitHub/GitLab).
- Experience working in an Agile environment .
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Desirable:
- Experience with Tableau REST API, Power BI REST API, or Microsoft Fabric automation .
- Knowledge of KNIME Hub or similar analytics workflow platforms.
- Experience integrating with identity and access management systems (Azure AD, Okta).
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes , or infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, ARM, Bicep).
- Understanding of monitoring and logging frameworks .
- Basic knowledge of UI frameworks for simple front-end interfaces.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field .
- Cloud certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, or Google Cloud Professional are a plus.
