Overview
We are seeking experienced Automation Test Engineers to support a large-scale digital transformation programme. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a complex enterprise environment, contributing to the quality assurance and testing strategy across multiple interconnected systems and services.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong experience designing and implementing automated test frameworks for UI, API, and end-to-end testing
- Proficiency with Playwright and/or Cypress for E2E test automation
- Hands-on experience testing services built with Kotlin and TypeScript
- Strong understanding of API testing, including calls to legacy systems and modern integration services
- Experience with integration resilience testing, including handling failures, timeouts, and degraded upstream dependencies
- Familiarity with contract testing tools such as PACT
- Experience working within environments containing multiple APIs and complex system interactions
- Ability to test cross-system state changes and data propagation across integrated platforms
- Experience with feature-flagged releases and testing behaviour across multiple feature flag states
- Ability to create and maintain smoke tests, regression test suites, and core user journey tests covering both happy and unhappy paths
- Experience testing data flows and validating data integrity across imports, exports, and synchronisation processes
- Knowledge of database technologies such as PostgreSQL and SQL, with experience testing data-driven features
- Experience working within large-scale enterprise environments and distributed system architectures
- Ability to test error handling, edge cases, and resilience to operational failure scenarios
- Familiarity with performance and load testing tools such as Gatling for both UI and API testing
- Experience supporting and coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities with operational stakeholders
Desirable Skills
- Experience with data migration testing, including data mapping, transformation, and validation
Working Arrangement
- Candidates can be based anywhere in the UK
- Predominantly remote working
- Occasional in-person collaboration sessions may be required
