Senior Agile Delivery Manager (Contract)
Contract Length: 12 months
Day Rate: Up to Β£600 per day (umbrella) (+ agreed expenses for travel outside local hub)
Location: Newcastle, Leeds, or Birmingham (Hybrid β minimum 60% on-site)

π About the Role
- We are seeking an experienced Senior Agile Delivery Manager to lead the delivery of high-impact software solutions within a modern engineering environment.
- This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who thrives working directly with engineering teams and driving delivery in active development settings.
- You will play a key role in enabling teams to deliver secure, resilient, and high-quality digital services, working closely with technical specialists to ensure backlogs are well-defined, prioritised, and ready for execution.
π― Key Responsibilities
Agile Delivery (Hands-on)
- Act as Scrum Master for a software engineering team
- Lead sprint ceremonies including planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives
- Remove blockers and maintain delivery momentum
- Manage scope, priorities, and backlog flow
Technical Delivery Engagement
- Work closely with developers, testers, and DevOps engineers
- Engage in technical discussions and delivery trade-offs
- Support delivery across complex areas such as resilience, security, and scalability
Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders
- Provide clear, data-driven delivery reporting
- Influence decision-making and drive outcomes
Planning & Coordination
- Maintain and refine prioritised backlogs
- Manage risks, issues, and dependencies
- Use tools such as Jira to track and report delivery progress
β Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in hands-on Agile delivery within software development teams
- Strong background as a Scrum Master or Delivery Manager in active build environments
- Experience working in modern engineering environments, including:
- Version control (e.g. Git)
- CI/CD pipelines
- Cloud-based platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure)
- Ability to engage confidently with technical teams and concepts
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience managing complex backlogs, risks, and dependencies
- High proficiency with Agile tooling (e.g. Jira)

You will have experience working with:
- Cloud-native or platform-based architectures
- Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform)
- Modern DevOps practices and CI/CD tooling
- Automated testing and quality engineering practices
β Desirable Experience
- Experience working with platform or data engineering teams
- Exposure to structured change or governance processes
π Location Requirement (Important)
Candidates must be based within a commutable distance (up to 90 minutes) of Newcastle, Leeds, or Birmingham and able to attend the office regularly.
