Associate, Cyber & Data Privacy - Leading US Law Firm (1-5 PQE)

Our client, a leading international law firm, is seeking a talented Associate to join its growing Cybersecurity & Data Privacy practice in London. This is an opportunity to work within a global, multidisciplinary team advising major international organisations on complex and high-profile privacy, cybersecurity and emerging technology matters.

The Role

The team acts as a global resource for clients across cybersecurity, incident response, data privacy, artificial intelligence and digital regulation , working with businesses across sectors including technology, private equity, financial services, healthcare, energy, aerospace & defence, telecommunications and transportation.

The successful candidate will gain exposure to a broad range of work, including:

• Advising on cybersecurity preparedness, incident response and post-incident remediation .
• Handling regulatory investigations relating to privacy and cybersecurity.
• Advising on UK and EU regulatory frameworks, including GDPR, NIS2 and DORA , and helping clients build privacy and cybersecurity programmes.
• Advising on AI and emerging technology regulation as the regulatory landscape develops.
• Supporting M&A and investment transactions , including privacy and cybersecurity due diligence.
• Drafting privacy policies and negotiating data processing agreements .
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across practice areas and international offices on complex, multijurisdictional matters.

The Candidate

The team is looking for an ambitious junior to mid-level lawyer with:

• Around 1–4 years' PQE , qualified in England & Wales or an equivalent common law jurisdiction.
• Strong experience in data privacy and cybersecurity , ideally gained within a leading law firm.
• Exposure to a mix of incident response, regulatory compliance, transactional support and privacy/cyber programme development .
• Experience in, or a genuine interest in developing expertise across, artificial intelligence and emerging technology .
• Strong academics, drafting and analytical skills, alongside the confidence to manage workstreams and develop client relationships.
